How I work

I follow an integrative approach, meaning that ideas and techniques are selected from a range of theories allowing me to tailor sessions according to the specific needs of each client.

First consultation

In this session, we will look at what brings you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. We can also discuss any further questions you may have about this process. If you feel that you can benefit from working with me and would like to meet regularly, we can then discuss how long you would like to meet for and at what time.

About counselling

Counselling offers the opportunity to freely talk about what is currently distressing you, any difficulties or any sense of unhappiness you may feel, in a confidential and safe environment. Counselling helps you gain a better understanding of your life, grow, develop and become who you want to be.

You may feel isolated or unable to share your problems, emotions, feelings and experiences with friends or/and family, so you would prefer to talk about these with someone independent, like a counsellor.

The counsellor will listen carefully, help you explore your thoughts and feelings and identify more appropriate ways to deal with your difficulties and issues, by determining what helps and what does not. You can then decide which changes you want to make in your life in order to reduce distress, bring relief and improve your overall wellbeing.

You can also choose counselling to pursue personal development; after all, counselling is a journey that enables you to uncover the different meanings you have given, and currently give, to different life experiences, based on events that happened in the past or are happening now.
